Oil Painting Lessons and Workshops

Below is a description of each workshop taught by Jeff White. Each workshop will include brief lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice with one-on-one instruction from Jeff.

 

Expect to spend an enjoyable day in a casual and light-hearted atmosphere and to leave having learned much, feeling impressed with your creations and having had plenty of fun.

Working with Oils I

 

Designed for beginning to intermediate levels, this workshop will focus on understanding the basics of and working with oils. Two half day sessions will give thorough instruction, demonstration and practice covering:

• Understanding the oil medium

• Working with different materials – thinners, dryers, types of brushes, solvents

• Creating the color wheel and designing your palette

• Working with tones, values and the color wheel

• Creating your composition and designing the canvas

*Note: This workshop is split into two classes to allow drying time. Classes may go past 3pm if group is willing.
